3. How We Collect Information

  • Via third-party services: Stripe for payment processing, and Google for OAuth authentication.
  • Automatically: via server logs and essential browser storage used to keep you securely logged in.

4. Purpose of Collection

Under APP 6, we collect your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To process and fulfil your orders (including the manufacturing of prescription lenses).
  • To create and manage your customer account.
  • To process payments securely via Stripe.
  • To communicate with you about your orders, shipping status, and support inquiries.
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
  • To improve our products, services, and user experience.

5. Sensitive Information — Prescription Data

Your optical prescription data is classified as both 'health information' and 'sensitive information' under the Privacy Act. In compliance with APP 3:

  • We collect this data strictly with your express consent.
  • The data is used solely for the purpose of manufacturing your prescription lenses.
  • The data may be securely stored in your account if you opt to save your prescriptions for future orders.

  • Lens manufacturers: prescription details and order specifications are provided to our manufacturing partners.
  • Shipping carriers: your name and delivery address are provided to logistics partners to deliver your order.

We do NOT sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

7. Cross-Border Disclosure

Under APP 8, we must inform you that prescription and order specifications are sent to our lens manufacturing partners located overseas for fulfilment. Please note that we do not send your name or email to these overseas manufacturing partners; we only provide the anonymous prescription details required to manufacture your lenses. We may also use overseas third-party partners for shipping and logistics in the future, to whom we would only provide the necessary delivery details.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that these overseas recipients comply with the Australian Privacy Principles or are subject to a binding scheme that offers similar protection. By providing your prescription information and placing an order, you expressly consent to this cross-border disclosure and acknowledge that Australian Privacy Principle 8.1 will not apply. This means we will not be accountable under the Privacy Act if the overseas recipient mishandles your information.

8. Data Security

Your privacy and security are our top priorities. Our industry-standard safeguards include:

  • Hashing and salting all user passwords.
  • Processing payment data through PCI-DSS compliant providers (Stripe).

  • Conducting regular security reviews.

We use advanced security practices to protect your data, though no system is entirely foolproof. By using our services, you acknowledge the standard risks of online information sharing.

9. Data Storage & Retention

Your data is securely stored on industry-standard cloud servers. We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.

You may request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting our support team.
